August 19th Full Moon Intention and Affirmation: What is Not Mine I Leave Behind

The full moon is upon us, and you know the drill, I’ve pulled three cards to curate an intention and affirmation for us to work with until the new moon.

This moon cycle I used the Light Seer’s Tarot, and we pulled the Eight of Cups, the Five of Pentacles, and the Nine of Pentacles. Be sure to have a look at the cards to see what they awaken in you. Let’s dive in.

Leaving behind what no longer serves you is the overarching theme of this spread. To do this, it’s important to cultivate a strong vision for the future, one that is aligned with your values and authentic self.

It suggests a time of transition, where you're being called to let go of something that no longer supports your growth and embrace a new path towards abundance and fulfillment. To do this you must honor any pain or sorrow that comes with transformation.

Intention: This full moon is an opportunity to reflect on what areas of your life no longer serve your highest good and to make conscious decisions about what to leave behind. It's a time to trust in your intuition and to embrace the unknown with courage and optimism.

Affirmation: What is no longer mine, I leave behind.

EIGHT OF CUPS

When I look at this card, I see a woman walking away from a pond towards a rising sun. It appears that seven vessels have sunk underwater. If you look closely their shadows are still visible on the surface of the pond.

You can see one cup is still peaking above the water line, while another, filled with flames, floats at the surface. The floating vessel gives me a sense of hope, purpose, and intention. I feel like the figure in this card has just completed a sacred ritual. I can hear her incantation, “What is no longer mine I leave behind.”

This card often signifies a departure from a situation or circumstance that no longer aligns with your soul's purpose. It suggests a need for change and a search for something more fulfilling.

FIVE OF PENTACLES

Looking at this card I see a woman bent in sorrow, a large door looms above her. There’s a light illuminating a key that can unlock the door to her future. All she needs to do is look up, unlock the door, and enter the next phase of her life.

Representing challenges, financial hardship, illness, or feeling lost, this card indicates potential obstacles on your path. However, it can also signify a period of reflection and growth. Handle things day by day and address needs as needs appear. Do not waste your vitality on worry.

NINE OF PENTACLES

This card contrasts with the previous two, embodying a potent blend of confidence and resourcefulness. The woman depicted is a vision of self-sufficiency, a modern-day alchemist crafting her reality. She reminds us that within each of us resides an inner strength capable of overcoming any challenge.

Like the dried herbs promising healing, this card offers hope for abundance and prosperity. It's a call to action, urging us to harness our inner power and create the life we desire.

The theme of leaving behind what no longer serves you is a powerful one. It suggests a process of shedding old patterns, beliefs, or relationships to create space for new growth and experiences.

This often involves a degree of discomfort or challenge, as represented by the Five of Pentacles. However, the promise of abundance and independence, symbolized by the Nine of Pentacles, offers motivation and hope.
